Today four fine ambassadors for our games; Aileen Magennis, Armagh Coaching Officer, Justin McNulty from Armagh’s first All-Ireland winning team in 2002, Barry McCambridge and Joe McIlroy from this year’s winning side, took time from their busy schedules and brought the Sam Maguire Trophy to St Peter’s Collegeland.
They came to share their joy and inspire our children as shining examples of what we can all achieve if we work hard.
It was a brilliant day with a guard of honor ably led by our two drummers, Caolan and Charlie. Our children then gave thanks in prayer for everyone involved in the squad and our school family. Our choir led by Mrs McKenna then performed a rendition of ‘The Boys from the County Armagh’ accompanied perfectly on guitar by Mr Philip Cunningham.
This was followed by and question and answer session and a photo opportunity for our classes.
Our guests finished their visit by signing autographs for everyone.
A truly inspirational day for everyone in our school. A huge thank you to everyone for helping to make this day happen. The future is indeed bright and was highlighted by the excitement and smiles of our children this memorable afternoon.
