Peace Proms 2022
Dear Principals, Teachers and Choir Directors, Parents
What an amazing day at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast yesterday and a wonderful end to Peace Proms 2022. We are shattered this morning but feeling very uplifted and grateful to be back on stage. We want to sincerely thank you all for your participation in Peace Proms this year especially, and for coming the extra mile with us to get our children singing and performing again. π
We didn’t need Covid to teach us the invaluable benefits of music and singing, especially for children. From educational benefits to building confidence and supporting mental health and well-being, the gift of music and singing is priceless. Many of our current and best Orchestra members started out in your choirs. Singing in Peace Proms inspired them to take up a musical instrument and, becoming a CBOI member is literally ‘living the dream’. ππ
The choirs were absolutely electric yesterday! β‘οΈπYou could feel the energy and excitement the minute they arrived at the Waterfront. We hope they had a ball and will carry the messages expressed in the songs with them throughout their lives. We hope they have the strength to be brave and stand up for what’s right; the courage to chase their dreams and be proud of what they’ve achieved; the confidence to unapologetically know who they are and be themselves because in this way they will ‘light up the world’.
Peace Proms is totally not-for-profit. Your participation and support enables us to bring this project to more children, schools, families and communities each year. Please continue to spread the word and get more schools involved so that we can return to full scale for 2023.
See you next year!! πΆπ
