P7 Raise funds for 'Angel Wishes'

The Primary 6/7 class undertook their annual Enterprise
Challenge again this week, and what a successful venture it
has been! Each child got a £5 start-up investment and were
given the choice to team up with friends or to work as
independent entrepreneurs. Their challenge was to Make
£5 Grow in aid of the charity “Angel Wishes”. The children
collectively decided to fundraise for this charity as it has
provided support to the family of a member of our wider
school community over recent months and years.

The children worked, with great support from their families,
over the past two weeks to establish a range of small
businesses. Their ideas were inspirational and all the hard
work paid off on Wednesday, 5th June in conjunction with
the whole school Sports Day, led by Mr Karol McQuade.
The children’s stalls offered face painting, Nerf-a-Smurf,
sweets, treats, buns and drinks, Guess Who?soak the
teacher, basketball hoops, ice-lollies, slush puppies, ping
pong cups, novelty pencils and stationery, tattoos and eye
glitter, popcorn, ice-cream and chocolate strawberries,
hook-a-duck, karaoke, raffles, lucky dip, fidgets and claw
machine.

Children throughout the school enjoyed the fantastic event
and parents and the wider community showed their support
and enjoyed tea, coffee and sweet treats in the school hall.
The whole day was topped off when Harry’s Ices arrived
and everyone got ice-cream!

The boys and girls spent Thursday afternoon counting all
the profits from their Enterprise Challenge and were

delighted to discover they had collectively raised a fantastic
£1631.50.

We are sure Angel Wishes will be delighted with this
donation and that it will have a great impact on families in
need.

Once again we wish to thank all our parents, grandparents,
aunts, uncles, neighbours and friends who supported the
Primary 6/7 class in this venture - we couldn’t do it without
you!
